ADHD Blues: “Get Them to Calm Down Please” (A Brief Post in Less than 100 Words)

Wednesday, November 9, 2011
A twelve year old ADHD style kid says to me today, “You know, I love my parents. I really do, but you have to get them to calm down. They’re just screaming too much about homework. It’s really too much.”
She was right.
Listen up. Everybody back up out there in homework land. Screaming and carrying on does not help. It only leads to anger and resentment.
Maybe the work is hard and above the kid’s head.
